Nice writeup about the “misattributed paternity myth” and the relative spreading power of shocking “facts” that support a cause vs non-shocking facts that don’t.

    doesn’t understand how this happens, but much like losing a job, if this happens to you the unemployment rate is 100%! As I’m in the 1% to 30% of the population with a “surname discontinuity” I can appreciate that emotion, but I have no interest in “promoting the myth” of higher rates. However, the author of this article is correct about those groups that have a vested interest in “stoking this fire” … and I would too if I was paying child support for some other man’s child!
