I’m excited to see this. The testing companies have never really figured out what genealogists want from DNA tests. We’re still in the Frontier Days of genetic genealogy. The Big Win is going to go to the person or company who figures out to tell customers something they want to know.

This is a very smart tool for interpretation of Y-DNA data, which as the author notes have been available for about fifteen years now.
Autosomal results have been offered by 23andMe since November 2007 (though I waited almost four years, and my first autosomal test was by Family Tree DNA in early 2010), but there is still a lot one can learn from lineage-specific (Y and mt) DNA.
I look forward to asking you to explain it all to me! 😉
