There’s always something jarring about chimpanzees. When you see a parallel to humans, you always wonder if it tells us something about our genetic wiring, or whether the similarity of our wiring just leads to a limited number of possible ways of living.

I think he’s wrong. It’s not that “the compulsion to strive, the talent to prosper and the ability to overcome failure are strongly inherited”. It’s that kids learn from their parents what’s important in life.
